NL-Africa Tax Desk newsletter – July 2021
Dear reader,
The aim of this newsletter is to give you an easy-to-read overview of the latest tax updates in Africa.
This month’s newsletter includes a key update on 130 members of the OECD’s Inclusive Framework issuing a statement on a two-pillar solution to address the tax challenges arising from the digitalization of the economy and the African Tax Administration Forum’s response to this. Next to that, similar to recent developments in other African countries the enacted Finance Act, 2021 of Kenya shows that new tax measures are aimed on aligning Kenya’s tax law with international developments. This includes the introduction of country-by-country reporting for MNEs, more stringent regulations on thin capitalization and tax measures designed to enhance the tax base with more transactions being subject to taxation.
If you would like to know more about the matters addressed in this newsletter or have any feedback, you are welcome to contact Sebastiaan Paling (Head of the NL-Africa Tax Desk).
Best regards,
NL-Africa Tax Desk team
