Workshops
We will host three rounds of workshops. As part of the registration you can choose one workshop for each round of workshops, which we have outlined below.

Intangible Property Strategies
We will focus on current cross-border considerations relevant to the acquisition, development, use, and disposition of IP in light of OECD and other international developments. Tom Zollo / Orla Gavin / Aroen Rambhadjan

Tackling Transfer Pricing Disputes
Transfer pricing issues are named as the most common type of disputes recently. While in the past such cases were always settled, the Dutch tax authorities tend to go to court more frequently. We will discuss the burden of proof in transfer pricing cases, the current approach of the tax authorities in disputes, and what companies can do to prepare themselves. Aldo Mariani / Rian Waaijer

Mastering the Art of Mergers & Acquisitions
We will navigate you through the latest international tax developments on M&A transactions, including the impact of the US alternative minimum tax and Pillar 2, international aspects of US excise tax on stock acquisitions and ATAD3. Gordon Warnke / Arco Verhulst / Jeroen van Gool / Dirk Jan van den Berg

BEPS 2.0 - in regime rules
We will focus on the various aspects of the Administrative Guidance and specific topics such as the transition rules and interaction with Dutch tax concepts as the liquidation loss rules and fiscal unity. Fred van Horzen / Grant Wardell-Johnson / Laureanne Willers Holman / Daan Notenboom

Getting ready for BEPS 2.0
We will explore what to consider for getting ready for Pillar 2, focusing on the Safe Harbours, the Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax and the role of Tax Accounting. Grant Wardell Johnson / Conrad Turley / Shruti Satya

How can we support you with the implementation of Pillar 2
We will discuss our approach on the implementation of Pillar 2, including key elements such as data management and tax technology.  Jan Moret / Ivor Lacroix

What is next for Pillar 1?
There is significant uncertainty about where the OECD’s Pillar 1 initiative will land. France is already blaming India, Saudi Arabia and the US for the failure of Amount A even as countries continue to work to finalize this deal. The EU, and other countries, are dusting off plans to introduce digital taxes, or coming up with new ones. There are indications that efforts to simplify transfer pricing rules for marketing and distribution activities – Amount B – could be successful implemented, even if other reform efforts fail. Vinod Kalloe / Alistair Pepper / Brian Ernewein

ESG: why tax departments should care
We will discuss latest ESG developments from a tax perspective, with regard to reporting standards and transparency plus the global tax shift to more environmental taxes. Bernard van Gerrevink / Merijn Betjes / Nicole de Jager

Americas tax legislative updates and outlook
We will discuss the latest legislative topics in the Americas region, including the tax provisions in the IRA, and CHIPS Act, and the legislative outlook in the United States and Canada. Marcus Heyland / Brian Ernewein

ASPAC tax legislative updates and outlook
We will focus on important tax rule developments across the major ASPAC jurisdictions and key considerations for investors. Sunny Leung / Conrad Turley

EMA tax legislative update and outlook
We will discuss the latest hot topics in the EMA region, including the state of play of the implementation of Pillar 2, the status of important EU initiatives, such as Public Country by Country Reporting and minimum substance requirements, as well as key jurisdictional updates. Raluca Enache / Lieke Mutsaers / Kashif Javed

LATAM tax legislative updates and outlook
We will discuss recent developments in tax matters across major LATAM jurisdictions, including trends in substance and business reason requirements, the implementation of a Mexican Hub for LATAM, the announced changes in the Brazilian transfer pricing rules and the potential tax reform of interest on equity. Armando Lara / Carlos Toro
